Infrastructure Service Team Lead/Manager

A client of mine, based in Leatherhead, Surrey, is currently looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Infrastructure Team Lead to join them on a permanent basis. The holder of this position will be responsible for delivery of the technical elements of a £3m IT Roadmap investment through 'hands on delivery' and will directly manage 4-5 technical SME's.

The right candidate for this role will be taking ownership of the delivery of infrastructure projects, drive improvement and increased efficiency in BAU services while also taking responsibility for resource planning and risk management within the Infrastructure team.

Essentially, this will be a hands-on leadership position in which you will be reporting directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Management of the technical team and hands-on delivery of the Infrastructure elements of the £3m IT Roadmap Investment
  • Responsible for technical management and implementation of changes identified under the Continuous Improvement programme
  • Responsible and accountable for managing process improvement to increase line of business system availability and improve Infrastructure performance against IT Service SLAs
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analysing and resolving quality and customer service Infrastructure problems, identifying trends, recommending system improvements
  • Help recruit and manage a team of 4x 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineers to deliver BAU improvement and the IT Roadmap investment
  • Deputize for IT Infrastructure Manager when required

Skills Required:
  • Ability to service an IT environment which exceeds 4000 seats
  • Active Directory
  • Knowledge of MS SQL
  • Exchange/SMTP/365 messaging and support administration
  • Internet technologies (access, firewalls, security) and LAN, WiFi, WAN knowledge (Aruba, Cisco, HP)
  • Windows Server updates and backup systems/recovery tools
  • Citrix based connectivity
  • Ability to work within structured frameworks such as ITIL, Prince 2
  • Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)

Qualifications (attained or equivalent experience):
  • CCNA or HP equivalent
  • MCSE/Windows Server 2012
  • CCA - entry level
  • Citrix administrator, Exchange or Sharepoint administrator
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Prince 2 Foundation
