Assistant Design Manager
We are working with a leading national Construction Group whose NW Regional Construction team would generally deliver projects for clients based in Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Typical projects would generally be valued from £5 Million up to £40 Million and successfully completed schemes have been in the education, higher education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential, care, blue light, retail and leisure sectors.
They secure the majority of the work through key public sector frameworks and also have excellent relationships with private sector clients.
They are now in a position to add an Assistant Design Manager to their Regional Design team in line with planned expansion and an excellent pipeline of projects for 2017.
The position reports in to a Senior Design Manager and you will be tasked with controlling design activity (with support) on projects through the pre-construction and delivery phases.
You will provide advice on design risk and opportunities for value engineering to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
Once projects are on site you will ensure the delivery team are working to the specifications.
You will have worked as a Design Manager/Coordinator previously on building projects for a minimum of 12 months or they would also consider applications from those working in Architectural roles looking to transfer to a contractor.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West daily.
Commercially aware with an awareness of value engineering.
