Front End Software Engineer - Southampton

Salary: Up to £60,000 and excellent benefits

The company

Our client is an exciting and rapidly expanding start up in the field of condition monitoring and prognostics. They are developing a cutting edge cloud product to provide scalable prognostics and advanced condition monitoring to the manufacturing sector. Their team of engineers consist of software engineers, UI experts, physicists and mechanical engineers. They are based in Southampton and are currently implementing the art of the possible in regression, anomaly detection, optimization, forecasting, prognostics and more 'run of the mill' analytics. Following successful investment funding and strong traction from large multi-national clients, they are looking to expand the team.

The Role

You are an expert with Javascript with a deep understanding of the fundamentals, along with a strong background with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript frameworks, like React, AngularJS, or Ember. You have a strong background working with RESTful APIs and websocket interfaces. You will have experience building complex applications with modern best practices (e.g. test driven development, continuous delivery, code reviews. You must demonstrate experience in clean coding, even when working on extremely hard problems under deadline pressure and you test everything. You thrive working on the bleeding edge and can learn new technologies independently. Moreover, you're excited to work on a technology agnostic architecture and learn new technologies and languages. Most importantly, you have an eye for design and strive to create intuitive user interfaces.


They are keen on engineers with a deep knowledge of software engineering principles: object-oriented design, algorithmic complexity, software design patterns combined with a passion for building high-performing systems. You must be comfortable in a culture of fast iteration and be attracted to complex problems. Experience working as part of a team on a rapidly growing application and codebase is ideal.
