Walsall Studio School

Teacher of Maths

Required from September 2017

Walsall Studio School opened in September 2013 and is one of the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. Studio Schools are small school of around 300 students and have been designed to help 14-19 year olds better prepare for the world of work as well as further and higher education.

Now is an exciting time in the history of Walsall Studio School. We are establishing the Mercian Multi Academy Trust alongside four other schools which represent a diverse range of educational establishments: Aldridge School, Queen Mary's Grammar School, Queen Mary's High School and Shire Oak Academy. This partnership will bring advantages and opportunities to our students and staff.

We are now looking to recruit a Teacher of Maths to join our small, creative and inspirational team of educators. The successful candidate will be an innovative practitioner who will relish the challenge of driving impact at KS4 and KS5. You will be teaching Year 10 through to Post 16 in our thriving sixth form, where maths is a popular and growing subject, and will be involved in varied and innovative teaching of GCSE, A-Level and Level 3 Core Maths.

Walsall Studio School is a NCTL lead school for Mathematics, and offers teacher subject specialism training to staff from other schools keen to develop maths as a second subject. We have a dedicated and strong team of maths specialists within the school, this is further enhanced by our links within the new multi academy trust, and we can provide a wealth of CPD and career opportunities for an ambitious teacher.

This position would suit a newly qualified teacher or an experienced teacher looking for an exciting new challenge.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged, please contact Paul Hunt at Hays Education if you would like to arrange this.
