This role for a Project Manager working in Business Support and Procurement related projects has been released on a temporary basis for 3 months initially.

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Lead in the planning and delivery of agreed cross-cutting high impact projects to ensure delivery of savings, deadlines and required quality standards
* To provide project management support and to collect, collate, analyse, interpret, and present timely, accurate and appropriate management information and project progress reports.
* To lead on the development of a programme to review, re-design and continuously improve corporate standard processes, internal systems and business processes within the area of the team's responsibility.
* To lead in the planning and delivery of agreed low value/high impacts projects e.g. business process improvements, working with shared services and suppliers to ensure delivery to cost, deadlines and required quality standards.
* To identify and recommend opportunities, including financial savings and improve and/or simplify existing project processes.
* To work with the Strategic Procurement Advisor to develop appropriate procurement opportunities, including working with other relevant Local Authorities where appropriate.
* Contribute to the work of the project teams, providing project management support for business case development, planning and the application of common standards and monitoring and reporting on project progress.
* To apply the Council's Project Management Framework for the project (using relevant project standards) to ensure that projects are defined, governed and managed in a consistent manner across the organisation.

You should match the following criteria:

* Experience of project management in a medium/large, multi-functional organisation
* Delivering successful outcomes from procurement related projects, including cost reduction and new ways of working
* Experience in the public sector
* Experience of procuring new contracts within a framework environment
* Experience of working with senior managers and stakeholders
* Proven ability to operate a level consistent with degree level or equivalent
* Prince2 Project Management
* Lean Systems Thinking/Six Sigma
