A large food manufacturer based in NW London is currently seeking a Shift Quality Assurance Technologist to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This position is critical in ensuring that all steps of the manufacturing process are audited against industry guidelines. 

The Shift QA Technologist will be educated to a minimum of HND in food technology/science or equivalent and have experience of working in a food factory and auditing. You must have good verbal and written communication and Interpersonal skills along with a sound understanding of HACCP and Micro.

Responsibilities of the Shift QA Technologist will include:
• Monitor and audit CCPs (Critical Control Points), their checks and records in line with internal and external requirements.
• Audit hygiene standards in the production environment.
• Carry out investigative swabs to monitor hygiene standards and investigate out of specification results.
• Conduct audits of products and processes to ensure compliance with procedures and standards and drive improvement.
• Carry out trend analysis of site information (non-conformances, complaints, out of spec results, internal foreign bodies etc.) and use to target improvements.
• Investigate, communicate & implement corrective action following internal or external non-conformances, or out of specification micro results, nutritional results, customer complaints etc.
• Action quality and process improvements, carrying out investigations, traceability, analysing trends in complaints and quality panel results.
• Monitor and audit start up checks to ensure issues are resolved within risk assessed & agreed timescales, liaising with relevant departments.
• Carry out coaching, training and ongoing education of factory personnel at all levels in relation to food safety & quality systems.
• Update documents where required - following new launches, non-conformances, changes in Policy/Procedure, products and coding.
• Take part in tasting both in panels and in the factory as required.
• Verification and calibration of temperature probes and scales
• Monitoring of chillers and freezers to ensure the units are working to the correct temperature tolerances.
• Responsible for food safety, legality and quality
