Job Description: Are you an experienced Bid Writer? We have a great opportunity for an Bid Writer to join an established TMC (Travel Management Company). The successful Bid Writer should have experience of supporting Business Development and Account Management teams in winning and retaining key accounts in the UK.

The Bid Writer will work with accounts in the medium - large segment tender business when seeking a new supplier and are obliged to re-tender after a three or four year period. Therefore our client have a regular programme of bids and tenders across the business for the Bid Writer to manage.

Overview

The Bid Writer will primarily write and produce tenders from 1st draft to final submission. You will also be involved in project managing the tender process as well as developing the commercial proposition but on the balance of skills we require strong editorial abilities over strong project management skills.

You will work with a group of approximately 20 sales and account management professionals with mixed levels of skills and experience as well as the Executive Team. There is also strong functional support across marketing, finance, technology and management.

It is anticipated that the bid writer will develop and maintain the tender library content and lead best practice in the quality of collateral and content available for bid submission.

Ideal Background:

- Business to business service organisation experience
- Experience in medium - large businesses, tendering for 3-5 year contracts
- Excellent and demonstrable tender skills
- Experience in leading the development and management of a tendering process and creating a knowledge base
- Strong personal organisation, good interpersonal skills and comfortable in providing direction and leadership to the tender team, peer group and other colleagues
- Highly competent in the use of Microsoft office and familiarity with publishing and/.or design tools

Preferred but not essential

- Business Travel sector experience (Leisure travel sector not an advantage)
- Public sector tendering experience
- Project management on specific bids
- Skills and experience in training and developing others in bid-writing skills
