An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Category Manager to join our Group Procurement Team based in our Wilmslow office. The successful candidate will work within the IT Category Team who has a significant role to play in helping the business achieve their objectives during a period of change as it re-evaluates its operating models and market strategies.

The purpose of the role is to provide proactive specialist procurement activity leadership and expertise for the business to achieve the most advantageous commercial outcomes in terms of both risk and value. You will identify, build and manage relationships through effective communication with all stakeholders, including external third parties and act as a key point of contact for supply chain management activity.

Responsibilities:

- Provide relevant market expertise for a range of procurement activity within the business
- Proactively work with stakeholders across the business for the IT Category
- Support high value and business critical projects
- Create and deliver cost saving initiative plans
- Ensure the supplier selection and contract management process is adequately protected from regulatory, reputational and financial risk
- Provide specialist commercial and procurement input in relation to the management of third party suppliers

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

- Demonstrable experience across the generalist Procurement skillset
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - particular emphasis will be on collaboration and influencing internal stakeholders
- Significant work experience of procurement in a complex changing environment, preferably within the financial sector
- Proven negotiation skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract development and management
- Management of large complex tendering exercises
- Demonstrable specialism of one or more category (preferably IT)
- Graduate calibre or relevant professional qualification desirable, e.g. CIPS
