This company is looking to recruit a Software Tester to play a leading role in maintaining exceptional product quality levels for this market leading range of software solutions in the vehicle sales market.

Your responsibilities will range from test analysis & design through to test scripting, test execution and defect management. On that basis, the role is suited to test professionals with a broad testing skill-set

The organisation is undergoing significant transformation in terms of products and organisational processes and the opportunity exists for the right candidate to play an instrumental role in defining the testing lifecycle for this fast growing organisation. Experience of agile testing is highly beneficial.

This is an exciting role for a high achieving tester seeking to broaden their skillset and take responsibility for overall product quality at the same time as establishing a robust end-to-end testing regime. Primary Responsibilities

- Test strategy / test lifecycle - creation of a test strategy for the organisation, including test phases, quality gates, test product definition, defect management approach etc
- Test analysis - identification of test cases from requirements and design specifications (functional specifications, user stories etc) and the creation of test scripts to exercise those test cases
- Test estimation - support project planning through the provision of estimates for testing activities
- Requirements / design assurance - ensuring requirements and design documentation have clearly defined acceptance criteria and definition of done to allow successful testing
- Test execution - execution of manual test scripts to test system functionality
- Defect management - identification, recording and reporting of defects, working closely with the development team to schedule fixes and subsequent retest and closure
- Test reporting - provision of test reports to project management on test execution progress
- Overall quality management - working with the Technical Director to introduce a 'shift left' approach to quality, identifying opportunities to increase overall product quality and development efficiency by systematically driving quality further up the lifecycle

Essential Skills & Experience

- Excellent understanding of software testing life cycles
- Experience of design assurance, i.e. working with design teams to ensure requirements are clearly identified
- Excellent test analysis and scripting skills
- Strong experience of defect management
- Experience of test execution reporting
- Demonstrable experience of driving up quality through continuous improvement / shift left activities

Desirable Skills And Experience

- Experience of testing in an agile environment
- Experience of test analysis for non-functional testing
