Part Qualified Management Accountant

£23,000 - £27000 + study support

You will enjoy the interview for this role! You can drive in and find a free parking space outside the building. You will be greeted by a friendly reception team inside trendy and fairly contemporary modern offices. You will then meet a brilliant interviewer - the highly approachable, engaging, down to earth and professional FC.

She will talk through the role with you - it is manageable but broad and you will be involved heavily in finalising the month end pack (P&L/BS and cashflow forecast reporting). You will hear about the new system which has been implemented (which is working smoothly and has integrated well based on sensible selection and investment in the integration / training!). You will probably go off on a tangent and discuss anything and everything except the role or your skill set here!

So back to it - you will then be advised that the role is available because of internal promotion (because the former incumbent was funded through CIMA and has taken a role as in a business-partnering capacity in the same office).

This is the point that you will have to do your part:

You will need to be able to describe your experience of management accounts preparation and have a real confidence in this area. You must already be involved in a varied role at Assistant Accountant / AMA level. There is a fair old pressure on the accounts team due to the growth and diversification of the business and you will need to provide evidence to the FC that you won’t sink in a busy role.

You will need to build rapport with great communication skills - the business is proud of the close knit, professional but boisterous culture and they want to find someone who will flourish here and fit in with the lively characters inside and outside finance!

You will need to leave the FC feeling comfortable that you know your way around when it comes to IT competency - experience of an ERP would really help, there would be no excuse for not being able to use Excel to a decent level.

You will need to be studying (ACCA / CIMA most likely) and be committed to qualification - if you are stumbling through the qualification you would need a decent justification - ultimately the business will be investing in your development and progression and they need to find someone who will use this role and opportunity for all it is worth!

If you would achieve the above by 'being yourself’ and you would like to be sat at the end of the interview listening to a verbal offer being made please contact us for a detailed conversation.
