We are currently working in partnership with our client who are looking to appoint an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing team, ideally based around Cambridgeshire but flexible provided you are located east of the M1 corridor and above London.

Service Engineer

The successful candidate will not need to have worked in the laser / optical industry but it would be a distinct advantage. Coms and automation / robotic skills would be advantageous. The role would suit someone who is time served or with existing service experience. HNC in electronics or similar qualification would be preferable. The propensity to sell would also be a useful trait.

Candidate requirements

Experience on 3 phase circuits, control electronics, water cooling circuits

Able to fault find and work from mechanical drawings and circuit diagrams

Excellent PC skills

Good mechanical dexterity

Full clean UK driving licence, prepared to travel throughout UK, Ireland and Europe sometimes further.

Terms of Contract

Full time position based from home.

Salary £28,000 pa (flexible DOE).

Use of Home Payment tax free £3,600.00 pa.

Company Vehicle, Computer & Phone all provided.

25 days holiday pa plus 1 extra day per year worked up to 30 days pa.

Employers Pension contribution of 5% made on your behalf.

Hours of work 08:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour lunch, however with the travelling that you will be doing these hours must be flexible, and overtime is not paid. You may need to start early and/or finish late depending where your job is, travel conditions may mean nights away. In return for this the client are flexible with your requests for time off for personal needs rather than taking holiday days.
