We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join our Customer Solutions Team based in either our Solihull or Aldershot offices.

What being the Business Development Manager with SSP will involve:

Reporting to The Head of Strategic Sales, you’ll act as the lead sales contact for the target market/value proposition and be responsible for the achievement of the Strategic Sales financial targets. Utilising your experience in influencing and negotiating, you’ll maximise revenue and be adept at achieving new business sales targets from new business sales.

Our Business Development Managers promote the sale of SSP’s Strategic Insurance products and services within a target market to new clients. A key part of this role is to develop a clear understanding of that target market, segmentation, business drivers and the value levers for prospects.

So, you’ll already be an experienced Business Development Manager, with the ability to own and develop a new business pipeline to ensure that SSP has a high profile within its market segment. You’ll ensure our value propositions are communicated and understood by our target audiences as value propositions are an important part of this role and you’ll be used to articulating the benefits of Strategic Sales value propositions. Working with our Account Management team, you’ll identify appropriate opportunities within the existing client base and harness reference sites to support the new business activity.

Based in either our Solihull or Aldershot offices, there will be ad hoc travel to our other international offices.

What experience we look for from you:
- Significant client facing new business sales experience with a demonstrable track record of winning new logo business.
- Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen and understanding of the sales process and the creation of propositions that deliver client ROI.
- Demonstrable experience of closing deals between £1m and £20m total contract value.
- Experience of territory planning and new business sales activity.
- Knowledge of the insurance market and Insurer policy administration and claims systems.
- Proven track record of profitable business development.
- Ability to identify, articulate, negotiate and close business opportunities.
- Consistent achievement of business goals.
- Understanding of commercial product pricing.
- Understand how to co-ordinate the SSP team (including management) to engage across multiple levels in large client organisations to create interest in the SSP propositions and generate substantial profitable deals.
- In-depth experience of forging, managing and developing customer relationships at all levels.
