Frinton Lawn Tennis Club is an historic club with a long history of grass court tennis and tournaments as well as being a social venue for weddings, anniversaries and memorable events.
The club currently has:
24 tennis courts, (16 grass, 2 indoor floodlit tarmacadam, 6 outdoor floodlit tarmacadam)
2 squash courts, outdoor heated swimming pool, gym, bar, catering facilities and function hall
For several years it has been operating in difficult business times due to strong competition for people’s leisure time and disposable income. The club now has the opportunity to recruit a General Manager to take full control of revitalizing the club to its former glory.
The person appointed will be expected to work closely with the Club’s Committee to produce and agree a 5-year business plan together with a financial budget which he or she will then be empowered to deliver. The role requires someone who has a proven track record in service or hospitality industry management, with particular skills in producing growth and profitability in challenging business environments.
Knowledge of finance and marketing together with customer service skills will be needed to rebuild the business model and expand the club’s membership and revenue streams.
The General Manager role will be very much 'hands on’, requiring someone who can lead from the front in the wide spectrum of both sporting and social activities as well as getting involved at the sharp end. This means a flexible attitude towards hours of work are needed in order to be at the club at the key times.
The salary will be £30,000-£35,000 plus free membership of the club and a bonus opportunity.
