Maintenance Engineer



Salary negotiable depending on skill & experience

TM Resourcing are currently recruiting for a well-known meat processing company based in Lancashire. They are now looking for experienced Engineers to join their team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance targets are achieved, breakdowns are rectified in a timely manner and work is carried out to the highest possible standard, quickly, safely and hygienically in accordance with Company codes of practice, policies, policies and relevant statutory legislation.


  • Providing maintenance support to factory

  • Maintain a high standard of all plant and machinery and keep down time to a minimum

  • To be familiar with a permit to work systems and the policies and procedures applicable to the company

  • Ensure PPM's are carried out correctly and that the Supervisor / Maintenance Manager are notified of any outstanding issues.

  • Ensure planned Maintenance work orders are completed correctly, on time and to the highest standard, recording dates, times, pares usage work carried out and any outstanding issues. Returning them to the Maintenance Administrator once they have been filled in.

A minimum of 70% of issued works orders will be achieved on a weekly basis

  • To achieve maintenance targets and the maintenance plan

  • Ensure spar equipment is overhauled / maintenance without delay to a high standard and relevant paperwork is completed, the equipment will be tagged, dated and signed prior to been stored.

  • Report to the Supervisor / Maintenance Manager any issues that may arise during the shift

  • Set up & close down production areas in the correct sequence ensuring that there are no issues that will delay start-up of production.

  • Attend weekly tool box talks

  • Maintain principles of flexible working

  • Maintain Health, Safety & Hygiene standards in accordance with company rules & regulations

The successful candidate will have:

  • The successful candidate must have a recognised mechanical and/or electrical qualification - 17th Edition

  • Will have completed an apprenticeship to a minimum of HNC level in either a mechanical or electrical discipline or be multi-skilled

  • Must possess good communication and problem solving skills

Shifts: 8am - 5pm / 4.30pm - 1.30am Weekly rotating
