Reporting to: Passenger Transport Team Leader

Location: Chelmsford

Role Purpose:
To assist with the development of a programme of works for capital and revenue projects for the passenger transport.
To maximise funding from the local highways panel, private sector and other government funds
To deliver passenger transport improvement projects and maintenance works including managing the associated budget
To capture and develop, implement and manage database and information systems to analyse and report on information relating to the Passenger Transport Services.

Key accountabilities

To assist with the development of a programme of passenger transport improvements
To project manage specific infrastructure projects and maintenance works e.g. highway improvements of the roadside bus infrastructure, from their conception through to their completion.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Previous project management experience, ideally gained in the highway sector
experience working with external contractors
Ability to Manage budgets and meet deadlines under pressure
Experience of Team and Partnership skill
Excellent IT skills including database management
Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in respect of works carried out on highway/public areas
Knowledge of local Government and experience of dealing with elected members (Desirable)
