Our Client are looking for a Product Engineer to improve, maintain and introduce new product models and components whilst ensuring quality, cost and time frame specifications are met. Every project requires you to work to company standards in the development of both products and individual components. You will be acting in a professional manner at all times, delivering general business and department objectives whilst bringing some of your personal objectives to the role.

The essential duties of this role include:

•Planning, co-ordinating, monitoring, reporting and introducing new products and components that meet procedures, instruction and cost and delivery targets.
•Ensuring manufacturing processes are consistent of correct component specification and quality.
•Ensuring the maintenance and repair/refurbishment of production tooling, ensuring that deliveries are consistent, correct and to component specification and quality.
•Development and implementation of plans to meet company objectives.
•Monitoring the plans and recommending adjustments in a time and cost effective manner ensuring on time delivery.
•Understanding your department and delivering company objectives to develop independent and team solutions to achieve the required
•Compile new product and promotion manufacturing quotations within schedule and ensuring the correct selection of supplier, manufacturing process, material and component cost.
•Deliver prompt and accurate introductions of Engineering Changes, Bills of Material, Product Promotions and other relevant procedures, minimising the value of redundant stock and reporting finding to Technical Management.
•Make engineering decisions and recommendations based upon limited information by using your professional judgement and consideration to the level of risk, within the parameters defined by the department manager, company policies and authorisation system.
•Develop the maintenance and delivery of agreed cost savings, OTIF delivery and quality improvement objectives.
•Advise, lead, motivate and support your immediate and cross departmental colleagues.

The candidate will be required to:

•Keep updated with developments in your specialist area and general engineering practices, apply this knowledge in order to advance the engineering technical base.
•Lead motivate support and maintain project groups where necessary.
•Apply the full Component Approval Procedure (CQRS, FMEA, ISIR etc.…) requirements in order to ensure the correct component specification and quality are achieved and maintained.
•Ensure all externally loaned and used MME owned tooling is maintained, repaired/refurbished and replaced using the Tooling Library/Register and supplier monthly performance bulletin.
•Demonstrate your technical ability to draft procedures, training manuals and engineering instructions.
•Be pro-active and determine to understand and eliminate the root cause of problems and CNCR's.
•Demonstrate a positive and pro-active approach to daily tasks.
•Communicate clearly and concisely at all business levels, both verbally and written.
•Demonstrate an attitude of continuous improvement and cooperation within the department.
•Take on other reasonable tasks when requested by the department manager.
•Ensure the department and surrounding environment is clean and tidy promoting 5S, 5W, 5M and 5T activities.
•Comply with all SOX, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and regulations.
•You will be reporting to a Commodity Development Supervisor

Excellent pay rate of up to £34,000

Working 08:00 - 17:30 Mon - Thu and 08:00 - 12:00 on a Friday.
