Our client is a successful International company operating within the financial industry, offering unsecured loans to its customers through a combination of an online offering and established retail brands. As a result of growth, the group will be strategically positioning itself in the UK to provide its products in the UK market.

CREDIT MANAGER

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to oversee the credit portfolio performance. This team is responsible for credit analysis related to intake quality, scorecard performance, vintage performance, book performance and product and limit strategies. The role reports to the Managing Director.

Min Experience

5 + years in a related analytical role, preferably in an unsecured loans business. Previous managerial experience will be advantageous but not essential.

Min Qualification

Degree in finance / mathematics / statistics / information technology or related discipline

Functional Competence

  1. Data analysis and Information presentation:

Perform data analysis on request or on own initiative to evaluate the effectiveness of the credit policy or to investigate opportunities. Analysis to be presented, with findings, to stakeholders.

  1. Modelling and analytics

Design, build and maintain various credit related models to support the business processes. Design, implement, monitor and analyse challenger tests in order to optimise the credit policy.

  1. Credit reporting

Prepare monthly credit packs to ensure effective visibility of origination and other relevant information.

  1. Process and origination KPI monitoring

Monitor origination processes and credit related origination KPI’s to identify operational issues or changes in trends and take the appropriate action.

  1. Book and vintage KPI monitoring

Monitor book and vintage credit KPI’s to identify issues or changes in trends and take the appropriate action.

  1. Business process requirements definition

Work closely with business analysts and developers to ensure changes in the credit policy is implemented in business processes and systems.

  1. Data requirements definition

Work closely with business intelligence to ensure data is available in the data warehouse to support effective monitoring and analysis of credit metrics.

  1. Report requirements definition

Work closely with business intelligence to ensure credit reporting is available to support monitoring of the origination process.

  1. Credit strategy input

Provide constructive input into the credit policy and credit strategy in order to optimise book size and minimise bad debt.

  1. Project Management

Effective planning and prioritising of own work and that of the credit team.

  1. Analytical and modelling standards

Define analytical and modelling standards and best practices within team and ensure adoption thereof.

  1. Stakeholder Management

Ensure relevant stakeholders are involved in projects and that they are informed of progress and issues and build relationships with employees within credit, as well as in other business areas.

  1. Project Management

Effective planning and prioritising of own work and that of the team.
