My client, a leading manufacturer in Pontypool is looking to recruit an Electrical Technician to join their Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team and to provide skilled support in matters relating to premises maintenance and machinery repairs.


  • Overhaul and repair of machines
  • Work with other departments to improve performance and achieve objectives
  • Implement planned and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Safe working of all plant and equipment
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding on production equipment
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fault finding, repairs and installation work
  • Working with and fault finding on PLC controlled systems
  • Experience in computer systems within a production environment
  • Experience of using drawing, manuals and circuit diagrams as appropriate
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload around production requirements
  • HNC or equivalent in an Electrical engineering discipline
  • 17th edition Electrical Regulations

The ideal candidate would also be willing to work towards being multi skilled

The successful candidate will be required to work the following shift pattern:

Week 1: 5 x 11 hours (days)

Week 2: 2 x 11 hours (nights)

Week 3: 5 x 11 hours (nights)

Week 4: 2 x 11 hours (days)

Rolling pattern Mon - Fri

Salary starts at 28k increasing to 30k upon successful completion of the probationary period.
