An 'Outstanding' Independent School set in 17 acres of beautiful Surrey parkland is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and hard working Teaching Assistant to join them immediately on a full time basis.

Offering a wide-ranging and active education with facilities encompassing new science laboratories, music and drama studios, sports fields, a heated indoor swimming pool, a forest school for its youngest pupils and a dedicated Sixth Form Centre for its eldest.

You will be providing high quality, fully integrated care and education for children primarily between the ages of 4-7, in a variety of settings throughout the school in partnerships with all teaching staff to maintain a happy, safe and secure environment. 

The working hours are from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday during term time only and the salary on offer is competitive for the area.  Staff have access to all the facilities the school has to offer including on site lunches and parking.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain good relationships with children and their parents/gardians
- Help the children dress/undress for PE and Games lessons/Outdoor Play/Forest School
- Partake in lunch with the children in the school dining room being aware of all dietry requirements/allergies
- Set up, clear and clean art/craft materials, prepare artwork for displays on boards and assist the teacher with preparing display boards
- Keeping up to date with all policies and procedures
- Complete learning observations in accordance with statutory requirements and update learnign journals.
- Work with and support groups of children or an individual child under the teacher's direction in all areas of the curriculum
- To be responsible for overseeing the after school/homework club in the school ICT suite
- To provide childcare/play/educational activities within the after school club.

Qualifications/Experience/Professional and Personal Skills

- CACHE L3/NVQ L3/NNEB or equivalent
- Previous and recent experience providing care or activities  within a childcare, play or educational environment
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Understanding of the relevance of childcare legislation
- Understanding of health, safety and welfare issues within a childcare environment
- Ability to develop a programme of age suitable activities for children
- An ability to work effectively with 4- 11 year olds and their parents
- Cheerful and a good sense of humour
