PHP Backend Developer - Central Manchester
Are you a mid-level backend PHP developer looking for a new and exciting role? You’ll have the opportunity to get hands on in the building of a huge list of new features for a brand-new, hugely detailed and intricate system, built from the ground up. I have a fantastic new role in Manchester city centre. The company are looking for developers to come in and work on building a list of new features, for a cutting-edge system. A couple of things that you get to work on include a dashboard and reporting suite and a purchase order system with supplier integration.
The system is not constrained by legacy code, which allows them to pick the best technology for the job!
As well as these new features, they are looking to integrate their main hub with various accounting systems, Magento systems and 3rd party courier software.
You would be joining the company along with 3 other new developers (we’re recruiting for multiple roles), during a huge wave of expansion. The team will be made up of 10 developers, in a company of around 25. Being a company of this size and status would mean that you would be surrounded by some of the best talent in new technology, having the opportunity to work in a team and see continuous self-development.
They work with a range of companies from SME’s to large international businesses, resulting in a very complex and fast paced system.
The company also encourage experimenting with all sorts of new technologies as they look to integrate these technologies with new API’s.

Friday afternoons are also set aside for the developers to discuss and work on any improvements that they themselves would like to see implemented, for both the products and tools.
We are looking for someone with the majority of the following skills:
- Extensive experience with PHP Vers. 5.6 upwards (Currently using 7.1)
- Knowledge and experience with GIT
- Good understanding of OO
- Rest API experience
- Job server/message queue experience (e.g. RabbitMQ or ZeroMQ)
Experience working in ecommerce is highly desirable, however not essential.
