You will be working for a specialist business which prides itself on their exceptional customer service, friendly professional approach and the ability to build long term relationships with their clients.
The Senior Payroll Assistant is a vital role where you will be the Payroll Manager’s number two with responsibility of over-seeing staff, checking work and submitting BACS payments. You will also deal with accurately entering payroll details from start to finish whilst reconciling payroll to client data, preparing payroll journals, analysing weekly and monthly PAYE figures and calculating SSP / SMP / SAP. You will also produce and distribute pension scheme returns and effectively deal with queries from both clients and HMRC.
As well as people management experience, you will also have payroll bureau experience, excellent numeracy and communication skills, knowledge of PAYE, working knowledge of computerised payroll software (Cyberaid Teamtrak advantageous but training provided) and ideally be CIPP qualified. In addition to this you will be a natural organiser with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, flexible and be able to show evidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player and leader who is confident in working to changing priorities in a busy department.
