As a result of continued business growth, our client is seeking a Global Category Manager from the Business Process Outsourcing sector with specific experience of procuring resold categories such as HR consultancy, Contingent and Permanent Professional Services Recruitment, Learning and Development and Employee Benefits solutions. The successful incumbent will work very closely with new business sales and bid teams to identify, source and procure third and fourth party international partners for outsourced HRO services categories as outlined above on behalf of global multinational clients. The environment is fast paced and highly responsive requiring quick turnaround in terms of the sourcing and procurement process in support of international bids. Our client is able to offer this role as a full time or part time 4-day equivalent role. Although our client’s UK office is in Hertfordshire, there is also the option to work 1-2 days from home (for a 5-day week). International travel may occasionally be required for this role.

The ideal candidate for this role will be university degree educated, preferably with CIPS and with a significant track record of sourcing and procurement of BPO, especially HRO services such as HR consultancy, Contingent and Permanent Professional Services Recruitment, Learning and Development and Employee Benefits solutions/services. This experience may have been gained within a leading global consultancy house or international HR Business Process Outsourcer who operates a similar business model. Key characteristics of your experience in addition to your professional category management expertise will be the ability to work with a wide range of clients, manage internal stakeholder relationships, selling the benefits, from a procurement perspective, of outsourced HRO services.

The Role:

  • Responsible for the Procurement of Outsourcing services from strategy development to contract award to supplier management and supplier development for service providers/partners whose services are resold to clients.
  • Working closely with sales and tender teams you will lead and drive negotiations and cost reduction projects working closely with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally, including third party service providers/suppliers, in disparate geographic locations globally.
  • You will be responsible for data gathering and analysis in order to identify opportunities for cost reduction and to support the development of business cases as part of the sales/bid process to clients.
  • You will be responsible for the due diligence process to ensure that suppliers meet our client’s stringent supplier accreditation process and quality standards and are able to deliver to the SLAs agreed with its customers.

  • You will leverage offshore resource on an "as needed basis", coaching and developing partners to support business growth and ensure excellent customer service and delivery.

The Ideal Person

  • University degree educated. MCIPS qualified.
  • Professional category management expertise with a specialism in outsourced BPO and HRO services such as HR consultancy, Contingent and Permanent Professional Services Recruitment, Learning and Development and Employee Benefits solutions in an international environment.
  • This experience may have been gained within a consultancy house or similar global BPO services provider or large multinational matrix environment.
  • Experienced in sourcing, negotiating with and managing outsourced service providers.
  • Ability to manage and deliver a number of projects simultaneously in an organised and timely manner.
  • A proven track record operating at a strategic level. Consultative and solutions driven style.
  • A self-starter, capable of working independently but also with excellent communication, relationship building and team building skills to work with colleagues internationally on time critical bids, tenders and projects for blue chip multinational clients.
  • Experience sourcing products for resell/ lead on the negotiation of product pricing (desirable)
  • Experience of regulated environments (data protection and US Sarbannes Oxley Compliance highly desirable)
  • Experience of using Ariba eSourcing or similar, to run RFP’s and RDQ’s, would be highly advantageous.
  • High level of commercial acumen. Excellent problem solving capabilities.
