Job Title: Community Co-Ordinator

Based: Hammersmith, London

Launched in July 2013, the Squared Online Certificate in Digital Marketing is a market-leading, award-winning online course developed between Google and AVADO. The programme is designed for people who want to gain a strategic understanding of the digital landscape while developing their collaborative and leadership skills by working in virtual teams.

Around 4,000 students per year are studying this intensive five-month qualification, which was developed in response to market demand from leading agencies and brands. The course is endorsed by the IPA and IAB, and is CPD-accredited which means it counts towards students’ official CPD learning hours.

The Role:

The Squared Online community coordinators are one of the primary points of contact for students, and are instrumental in ensuring that the programme is delivered effectively.

The right person for this role will enjoy working in a busy environment and having direct contact with students to help them progress successfully through the course. Mindset and personality are as important to us as an interest in digital and ongoing professional development. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Community management and support

  • Demonstrate by example the Squared tone and mindset in all professional student contact
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the course curriculum and learning objectives and use this to maintain quality and drive product innovation and evolution
  • Respond in a clear, timely manner to students’ questions about the course content and related projects via the Campus forums and by email, including liaising with Squared expert speakers, markers and subject matter experts where relevant
  • Be active and visible on the Squared Online Virtual Campus and relevant social channels such as Google+ to encourage discussion, debate and understanding of the course material
  • Post relevant news and articles to enhance the feeling of community and a strong relationship with the Squared team
  • Play a key role in creating and managing groups including working closely with individual students and teams to help them proceed effectively through the course. This will involve providing appropriate guidance on creating a positive group dynamic and facilitating these relationships to meet the course aims
  • Keep a close eye on student feedback and ensure the delivery team is made aware of important issues and areas for attention
  • Maintain accurate records of all student contact and undertake related administrative processes smoothly and efficiently
  • Where necessary, communicate progression information to students including course status

Live Class Support

Students participate in interactive live online classes each week which are delivered by a team of expert speakers and guest lecturers. The community coordinators will be required to provide support during live classes by:

  • Ensuring that all technology is fully tested
  • Liaising with speakers before class so they understand exactly what’s required and how to use the Adobe Connect software (full training provided),
  • Setting up lighting and banners if the speaker is presenting from the office
  • Provide technical support to speakers and students during live classes (full training provided)
  • Assist the speaker in running exercises during live classes
  • Answering questions directly or fielding queries to speaker when appropriate
  • Posting class recordings and other relevant resources to the Virtual Campus following each class
  • Accurately reporting on class attendance numbers

TO JOIN US YOU’LL NEED:

  • A lively, friendly personality
  • A willingness to get stuck in and become part of a busy, chatty team
  • A Bachelors’ degree
  • Demonstrable interest in digital and e-learning
  • Evidence of a high standard of customer service
  • Be able to communicate effectively over the phone and in writing, with an excellent grasp on the English language, grammar and punctuation
  • Strong IT skills and competency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Attention to detail and an ability to understand and maintain processes and systems

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of digital marketing gained in one of the following ways:
    • A minimum of six month’s work experience in a digital marketing role
    • Completion of the Squared Online course or another recognised digital marketing course
  • Knowledge and experience working within a Virtual Learning Environment, preferably Moodle
  • Knowledge and experience working within a web conferencing platform, preferably Adobe Connect
  • Experience of managing and facilitating group work
  • Understanding of the principles of leadership and virtual collaboration
