My client are embarking on a period of growth and as such are seeking a technically excellent accountant to join their Head Office. Reporting into the VP Finance, with regular dealings with the CFO, Treasury, Tax and Corporate Finance teams, as well as the operations, the main task is to work within the Group Finance and more widely CFO team in providing monthly, interim and annual financial consolidated results and reporting.

In addition, you will be the business technical accounting champion and will need to posses an expert knowledge in IFRS, particularly IFRS 3 and around the upcoming changes to IFRS 15.This is an integral part of the role.

In addition to technical accounting expertise and financial reporting, you will be involved in:
-the transition project as a result of recent acquisition
-financial reporting and accounting initiatives and enhancement projects
-Continued quality assurance programs

Within Transition project:
-Assist in delivering optimum Finance Operating Model design and financial reporting and accounting system which reflects best practice, sustainability and expansion capabilities
-Prepare accounting policies and technical accounting manual

Ongoing role
-Prepare monthly consolidated financial reporting pack ensuring adherence to accounting policies, best practice and recommended industry accounting practice
-Ensure continual improvement and enhancement of the monthly, quarterly, interim and annual consolidated reporting pack
-Assist in the development of the business intelligence reporting systems driving automation wherever possible
-Coordinate statutory accounting and interface with tax and legal

Continuing development:
-Develop and implement standardised financial reporting and accounting processes in accordance with best practice
-Identify operating model and process gaps and propose solutions
-Undertake training of staff where necessary

This is a high profile role that will give you exposure to all areas of the business.

Again, extensive technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP within upstream oil and gas accounting is essential.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity at a high growth business that will grant the role holder access to the Board on a daily basis as well as allowing you access to the operations and key decision makers.

The role is based in London and paying an excellent package on top of the advertised base salary range. There will be an expectation for business travel to the operational sites.
