To lead and motivate the project team to achieve the corporate objectives of the department and the client project and change requirements. Ongoing management and oversight of departmental projects and change to meet internal and external customer expectations. The role will be varied and involve delivering key IT and Business projects and change supported by a team of business analysts and a project support officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To lead the planning and implementation of projects to support the departmental strategic objectives.
  • To act as project manager for departmental corporate projects
  • To ensure all projects are managed in line with the departmental project methodology.
  • To identify/ develop and implement changes to the departmental project management methodology.
  • To produce and maintain project documentation as set out in the project methodology
  • To communicate project progress and status. To facilitate the resolution of project issues.
  • To control project scope and changes. To operate the project methodology on a day to day basis.
  • To proactively manage project risks in accordance with the departmental Risk policy and procedures.
  • Resolve or assist with the resolution with project issues and/or conflicts. Contribute to the sharing of best practice with the team.
