Business Development/Account Manager - Traineeships

About The Role

If you like speaking with people and building relationship, then the key purpose of this role will be to engage with businesses to promote QA Traineeships and generate work experience/job opportunities for unemployed 16-24 year olds.

You will be responsible for planning and developing your strategy to grow your client portfolio by professional networking and maintaining knowledge of the local labour market.

Working closely with our Apprenticeship team you will ensure the timely placement of Trainees into work placements to finally enrol onto the QA Apprenticeship scheme.

What do we want from you?

  • To work with employers to develop suitable and sustainable work experience placement and learning opportunities
  • Responsible for continuous business development activities through structured telephone sales and client meetings/presentations
  • Responsible for account managing all employers
  • Work with internal and external partners to maximise placement opportunities
  • Work with team to support learner retention.
  • Support the achievement of the Traineeship budget by meeting targets for learner and employer engagement
  • Record all employer details and correspondence on to CRM
  • Provide reporting figures on all recruitment targets and sales pipeline
  • Attend regular meetings and workshops
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements attached to Traineeship Learning
  • Compliance with internal policies in regards to the learner and employer engagement, Traineeship delivery and the Health, Safety and Welfare of learners
  • Work with internal and external partners to maximise placement opportunities
  • Work with team to support all aspects of learner employability.
  • Support wider duties where required within the Traineeship team
  • Ensuring timely and successful placement, progression and achievement of learners.

Your Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven and successful placement/recruitment experience with a well-defined approach
  • Ability to work towards a sales pipeline
  • Ability to work under own initiative with the minimum of supervision
  • Good communication both written and spoken
  • Able to present to employers and deal with customers at all levels
  • Persistent, tenacious and collaborative

Desirable

  • Experience of sourcing voluntary work placements for young people
  • Experience of a similar role within the Government funded learning sector a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Ability to help mentor and coach candidates to successfully obtain work experience placements including CV creation
  • IT related market experience would be an advantage
  • Understanding of traineeship, apprenticeship and government funded learning
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • An understanding of the IT sector
