**Senior Network Security Engineer - Gloucestershire - up to £55,000 plus benefits**

Our client, an exciting and cutting-edge cyber security service provider is seeking a successful, driven and experienced Network Security Engineer to join the growing Solution Delivery team to provide a project delivery function. The applicant will be responsible for the technical design, delivery and implementation of our services to new and existing customers as well as the development of new service offerings.

A degree of travel to customer sites and/or datacentres is expected therefore the candidate must have their own car.

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

Essential:
*Knowledge of SIEM platforms and real-world engineering experience of SIEM solutions including on-boarding of log sources.
*Excellent network fault troubleshooting experience
*Good understanding of network protocols including (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SSL) their function and use case
*Strong practical & theoretical network knowledge including next-gen devices (NGIPS, NGFW, Router, Multilayer Switch, etc.) and OSI 7 layer model
*Exposure to enterprise network topologies and ability to read and understand network topology diagrams
*Strong understanding of IT security concepts, technologies and IA practice
*Strong knowledge of IT security technology and tools including IDS/IPS platforms, host agent applications and their use cases
*Understanding of the role of a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
*Excellent communication, written and verbal skills. Ability to work with both customers and vendors to resolve problems under pressure
*Ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities; ability to learn new technology and concepts quickly

Desirable:
*Knowledge and experience of copper and fibre tap or packet broker technology
*Knowledge of system administration within both Linux and Windows environments
*Experience working within a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) or similar environment
*Commercial certifications with major security technology vendors
*Experience of Palo Alto Firewalls
*Security certifications or course training from major organisations including SANS, ISC, etc.
*Experience of datacentre working and exposure to architecture design
