Our client, a world leader within their specific field, currently has an exiting opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor. You will be working within a team of three leaders with responsibility over their manufacturing facility. The successful candidate for this new role will have direct responsibility over manufacturing test, customer repair, military portfolio (M7) build and test and system test.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure risk assessments and EHS folders are maintained and up to date
* Enforce departmental quality and operational procedures especially ESD compliance
* Liaise with QA and Operations Manager to update and draft new procedures as appropriate
* Perform annual appraisals, utilising the training matrix, to increase flexibility and hold development reviews for team members that demonstrate high potential in accordance with the development matrix
* Utilise the company capability procedure to ensure sustained and improving performance (including but not limited to efficiency and productivity)
* Monitor subordinates adherence to policies and utilise the disciplinary procedure where appropriate to moderate and correct inappropriate behaviour including sickness
* Induct new employees into the business (including contractors) including associated training
* Ensure team have appropriate tools, PPE, test equipment and materials to fulfil their orders
* Maintain HR portal for the team including holiday approvals (<2 consecutive weeks), flex days, sickness management and return to work
* Enforce data accuracy within the team including labour bookings and MRP transactions
* Supervise overtime, taking responsibility for the site, as and when required within operations
* Liaise with planning to ensure realistic and balanced plans are created
* Ensure planned tasks and orders are fulfilled on time and in accordance with standard cost
* Implement, maintain and promote 5S within direct team and throughout the wider operations team
* Enact change notices in accordance with instructions issued from the change committee
* Support operational stand up reviews with progress updates
* Other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time

Qualifications / Experience

* ILM Certificate in Team Leading or equivalent leadership experience
* Understanding of technical drawings (wiring schematics, build to prints, engineering drawings) is crucial
* Understanding of electro-mechanical assembly techniques
* Thorough understanding of ESD principles desirable

* Applicants must be able to hold and maintain UK Government clearances
* Key-holder and overtime supervision outside normal working hours occasionally required
