Lead / Senior Environments Engineer (DevOps, Cloud, Agile)


  • Role: Lead / Senior Environments Engineer (DevOps, Cloud, Agile)
  • Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + 15% Bonus + Benefits
  • Location: Coventry

Working with one such company with their base in Coventry, I’m looking for a Senior Environments Engineer.


  • You will be an Environments Lead who has an expert knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle, modern testing methodologies and agile development practices.
  • With a keen DevOps mindset, you will help delivery teams automate their environment requirements to facilitate each phase of the testing lifecycle.
  • With proven experience in automation and integration you will help the company move forward in its plans to utilise cloud technologies (AWS / Azure) to increase the efficiency of the SDLC and provide a truly modern approach to software development.
  • As a passionate advocate of modern, efficient product delivery you will share your knowledge and enthusiasm through coaching / mentoring colleagues to meet the strategic goals within the Environments function and to support others to reach their potential.
Skills / Experience

  • Extensive experience in configuring Windows Server based environments for in-flight project testing
  • Exposure to an eclectic mix of Microsoft and Linux based technology stacks
  • Highly tuned investigative & diagnostic skills
  • Ability to take ownership of a problem and coordinate across technical teams to resolution
  • Experience in IT Service Management methodologies (ITIL or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, enhance, test, and deploy complicated integration software.
  • Deep understanding of the modern SDLC toolset (CI/CD)
  • Experience of supporting Microsoft .NET, IIS & SQL Server
  • Experience of Oracle Forms and RDBMS
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures (governance)
Desirable skills:

  • Experience of using JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience of automated configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated industry
