My client is an established, innovative and ambitious charity. Their Mission is simple; supported entirely by the construction and property industry, the charity helps those who are homeless, or are in a hospice by improving the buildings they need.

The role:

The charity is looking for an additional Fundraising and Events Manager to cover maternity leave for 1 year.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and with the guidance of the Fundraising & Events Manager you will support the development and administration of the charities fundraising and a selection of our events. This role lies at the heart of the relationship the charity has with the industry that supports them and the individuals within those companies.

As an industry charity it is important to understand the corporate world; how it works and wishes to engage with charities as well as having a genuine interest in the homeless and hospice charities they help.

The Charity has five full time employees and is able to help a large number of homeless and hospice projects thanks to the fact they can tap into the resources of the companies which support the charity.

This is a busy professional charity who need someone with exemplary people skills, who can also demonstrate experience of delivering impeccable administration. You will also be creative, analytical and work well in a team. The work is detailed, varied and interesting as it engages both the charitable and the corporate sectors.

Person Specification:

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to have ownership of established fundraising events and deliver them in a fast moving, well run charity.

The person we are looking for will be an experienced fundraiser and will be highly organised, creative, self-motivated and enthusiastic about the charity and the industry that supports the charity. The right person will be able to manage their own administration and meet deadlines.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and people skills as they will be dealing with a wide range of people from Chief Executives of major companies to vulnerable individuals at projects. Excellent organisational skills and experience with industry wide software systems especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM and maintaining a database are essential.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid of responsibility, hard work and meeting targets. The charity is run and managed by a small team and the successful applicant will need to be flexible, have a positive attitude to life and people and be a genuine team player. The role is substantial and will appeal to someone who can think laterally, has a sense of humour and never gives up!

Responsibilities:

Fundraising

Working with the current Fundraising & Events Manager you will be responsible for supporting the annual fundraising plan which will include the following established events:-

* Dragon Boat Challenge
* Running Events
* Ride London
* Charity Sailing Cup
* Award Evenings
* No Christmas Card Appeal
* Company initiatives
* General Fundraising initiatives

You will also be responsible for all the related administration of these events and the income they produce.

Patron Companies

You will assist with the relationship management of the charities corporate partners, known as Patrons. This will include maintaining and developing the relationships with key people and volunteers within these patron and supporting companies. These relationships are fun and rewarding.

General - Along with the Fundraising & Events Manager you will:

* Maintain and update the database regarding all donors, volunteers and their contributions.
* Work closely with the Head of Communications to encourage participation in events and encourage new ones.
* Record Gift Aid declarations and claim Gift Aid for the charity
* Monitor 'Just Giving' site and 'Virgin Money Giving' site
* Maintain the fundraising schedule regarding income and expenditure and produce quarterly reports for the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
* Help the team with collections at Awards Evenings and Lunches
* Work with the Chief Executive and Fundraising Manager to develop the fundraising strategy.
* Maintain a close working relationship with the Head of Communications and Applications Manager.
* Take part in the weekly team meeting and update colleagues on projects & supporters
