The current economic climate, and the implications for public sector finances, demonstrates the importance of sound financial planning and support within local government.

The key duties of this post are:
  • contribute to a comprehensive range of financial services provided to senior officers, budget holders and elected members.
  • provide a range of financial administrative tasks within the Financial Management Unit assisting in the delivery of a comprehensive range of financial tasks.

The skills and experience you must have:
  • Educated to Higher level or equivalent, with an emphasis on accounting or business studies, is required along with the ability to communicate effectively with finance colleagues and staff throughout the council, external organisations and partners
  • You should also have the ability to operate successfully in a dynamic team working environment, with a proactive attitude and approach, with experience of working in a finance and administrative environment.
