We have several great opportunities to join The Operational and Accounting Control team (part of Service Delivery & Operations in the Technology & Operations Division) We are currently recruiting for several types of roles at Professional (S2) and Management (S3) level in London, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Bradford and Liverpool.

What do we do?

  • Oversee Geoban UK operations from an Operational and Accounting control perspective (over 3,000 staff across 14 different sites dealing with c20 million transactions per year)
  • Responsible for quality and control of Operational service to protect BAU performance, drive continuous improvement and reduce risk
  • Oversee c£16bn (net) of the Santander UK balance sheet
  • Govern the implementation of the control model for every major T&O led change programme (e.g. Cheque Imaging, Apple Pay) enabling Santander to achieve its objectives in a controlled and protected way
  • Create business insight using big data to drive efficiency and control improvements
  • Drive cultural transformation of Risk and Control awareness across Operations, driving customer service excellence through enhanced process and controls


Minimum Skills and Experience required:

For all our roles, we are looking for people who are:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a business or financial discipline
  • Resilient, tenacious and self-motivated with proven experience of managing multiple workstreams at high pace
  • Strong communicators with well-established ability to influence, challenge and gain respect at Director level
  • Determined with a persistent and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Inquisitive, always looking for innovative solutions and sharing learning
  • Knowledgeable about digital solutions with experience of driving technological change


We are currently recruiting for 3 different roles within the team. The specific roles and skill sets we need are:

Risk and Control consultants/managers (£30k-£60k + Benefits DOE)

  • Proven understanding of risk and control in financial services, taking a proactive approach to dealing with issues and escalating quickly and effectively
  • Experience of mitigating operational risk using quality and control models
  • Experience of consulting on change projects to ensure delivery is simple, controlled and in line with strategy
  • Experience in improving customer journeys through enhanced processes and controls

Finance analysts/mangers (£30k-£60k + Benefits DOE)

  • Qualified (or part qualified) accountants with experience of working in financial services
  • Experience with complex integrated accounting systems
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and controls
  • Analytical and questioning attitude, constantly seeking to expand knowledge
  • Ability to organise, structure and analyse issues, outputting clear conclusions and proposals

Data analysts (£30-£60k + Benefits DOE)

  • Excellent data analysis skills with proven understanding of how data can improve controls
  • Ability to manage and manipulate a large volume of data via SQL / SAS to provide insightful and revealing risk analysis
  • Experience of delivering digital solutions and driving technological change
  • Ability to provide data analysis and business insight reporting to senior management to facilitate strong decision making
