ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client was established in 2006. They publish an impressive portfolio of high-quality, beautifully-designed visitor guides to cities and regions around the UK and Ireland. These guides are placed in the bedrooms of leading hotels in each area, and remain there for 12 months. The guides are funded by advertising sales to companies who are keen to market their products to visitors and tourists.
The company’s advertisers include restaurants, shops, attractions, art galleries and museums, bars and nightclubs. Their portfolio currently stands at more than 40 titles and our client is adding more titles in the next 12 months.
To be considered for this role, you will need experience in a B2B sales role. You will be capable of generating new business and managing your own workload. Excellent communication skills are key, along with an organised approach and (of course) a confident, professional and articulate manner.
As a Senior Account Manager, you will be involved in selling print and digital media solutions to both new and existing clients across the UK and Ireland.
You will be responsible for identifying potential new advertisers in addition to developing core business with existing customers. You will be just as tenacious in securing a quarter-page advert from a small rural teashop as you are negotiating a high-value package with leading advertising agencies and corporate brands.
You will demonstrate confidence in your products and in presenting opportunities - you’ll be the sort of person who is excited at the prospect of pitching a £10,000 campaign, and not be afraid to tie down the order.
If you already have experience in retail advertising sales, it’s certainly an advantage as some of our client’s most successful Account Managers have come from local newspapers and magazines. Experience in digital media is also an advantage but, again, not essential. Our client provides effective and ongoing training but they’re not in the habit of teaching grandma to suck eggs, so they fully respect individuals with experience who are happy to hit the ground running. Our client’s policy is simple - they’ll pay you what you’re worth, with absolutely no upper limits! Their salary structure is graded and linked to a weekly sales target which is appropriate to your ability. Starting salaries are negotiable dependant on experience but you can expect to join the company at £30k basic. And there’s no need to stand still for long - our client offers a quarterly pay review for ambitious salespeople and have no cap on the salary level which will increase for the best salespeople. Our client offers a very advantageous bonus structure and there is no limit on commission payments - they are always delighted to pay big commission pay-outs because if you’re doing well, it means the company is doing well, too! In addition, our client offers a generous 6 weeks’ paid holiday plus Bank Holidays and every weekend off.
