Financial Controller - Greater Manchester £55-60k+ Excellent Benefits including on site Gym.
Our client a dynamic software technolgy business require a Qualified Financial Controller to join during a period of huge growth for the group.
Job Purpose: The position will report directly to the CFO. The role will involve creating and building effective network between the Finance function and senior stakeholders. The individual will work closely with the senior management team whilst at all times remaining independent and objective. The position therefore requires a strong individual with a positive attitude and "Can-do" approach at all times, whilst being comfortable to challenge at all levels. The role offers a great opportunity to play a big part in the continuing success of this major group. Core Specific Responsibilities: To work closely with the CFO to ensure that financial controls and accounting policies are being followed at all times and costs are being challenged and controlled at all times. Preparation of monthly management accounts Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review and explanation to CFO identifying significant YOY and MOM movements Work with the finance team to prepare budgets and full year forecasts, including but not limited to: Profit and Loss Account Investments and depreciation Headcount and payroll budgets and forecasts Attend Finance Management Performance Reviews and present the financial performance of the business against budget and forecast, providing explanations for significant deviations from budget/plan and prior year. Follow the lead of the CFO to ensure: Centre debtors and cash receipt sheets are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. Revenues are recorded accurately (in accordance with Company policy and accounting standards) As required perform audit testing and proof of effectiveness tests in accordance with audit guidelines issued by the Group Compliance and Process manager. Develop and coach management on the need for the business to compliant (internal and external) and on forecasting techniques and accuracy. Act as sign off on Staff commission packs, performing occasional tests on support provided by line managers in respect of commissions and bonuses being paid to staff. Prepare adhoc analysis as requested from time to time. Assist Sales management with the preparation of weekly sales and profit forecasts, working closely with the Senior Business Analyst to ensure accuracy and consistency of data. Prepare comments in respect of financial performance in Centre composite submissions.. Work together with the Sales Administrative and Service Administrative functions to ensure month end processes, financial processes and sales processes are followed that impact on the financial performance of the business.
Experience. The individual will be a motivated professional with a desire to succeed who balances a strong accounting background with the ability to provide effective commercial support to Senior Management. Core to this will be the understanding of a Technology business. The individual will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years' PQE experience (ideally gained in a technology/software environment.
