Revenue Manager – Maternity Cover, Manchester City Centre

My client is one of the world's largest upscale hotel brands and has properties located in major urban centres, gateway cities and resort destinations all around the globe. They have an opportunity for a Revenue Manager to join the team based in Manchester on a full time, maternity cover basis working 39 hours per week. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.

My client envisages future opportunities following this maternity cover at one or more of their Northwest venues.

The Revenue Manager will cover during the maternity cover two Manchester City Centre properties including their 228 bedroomed upscale property and 100 plus roomed budget hotel.

The main purpose of this role will be to coordinate both hotels Revenue Management activities, making the best use of the resources to implement Revenue Management strategies for accommodation, meetings and events.

As their Dual Site Revenue Manager, you will use all Revenue Management tools, practices and techniques to help develop price optimisation & revenue generating strategies for the Hotels in the short, medium and long term.

Develop and implement Revenue Management techniques to search for and achieve budgetary objectives for REVPAR, Occupancy and ADR.

Revenue Manager Duties and Responsibilities

- Leading the Revenue Team.

-Both strategic and tactical initiatives related to Revenue Maximisation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to set strategic direction, determine pricing, create promotions, and explore new distribution opportunities.

-Ensuring that all target market segments are developed for the long term benefit of the Hotels business.

-Monitoring statistical data, pick up patterns, lead times and business trends.

-Ensuring that all distribution channels are utilised in order to maximise distribution and accommodation yield.

-Analysing the performance of the Hotels and look after the market and competitors (past performance and forecast)

-Working with a team to identify and research new business for the hotels in rooms, meetings and events.

-Creating a proactive working relationship with local bookers to be their hotel of choice.

-Providing strong motivation and leadership for the team in order to achieve budgets.

-Creating a positive team environment through coaching, development and support. Have the ability to delegate whilst ensuring all activities are completed to a high standard.

- Previous experience in a customer-focused industry

- Faultless communication skills

- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team

- Team leadership experience

- Competent level of IT proficiency

- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail

- Proficient grammar as writing letters and emails is an essential part of the job

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

- Previous experience in a branded revenue management position

- A BA Hons degree or higher in Leisure & Tourism or Event Management
