FTSE 250 Consumer Brands based in Central London is looking for a qualified ACA to join them in an Business Controls Finance Analyst role.

Their operational reach is international with manufacturing plants in the UK, USA, Europe & Asia and they employ over 2,000 people worldwide.

To help them achieve their growth potential, they are looking for a qualified accountant to join their group finance function as Business Controls and Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and based in London, the role is essentially split into two key areas of responsibility; internal audit and group reporting.


Internal audit will be your responsibility in full, meaning that you will quickly need to build credibility and a strong working relationship with the Audit Committee and senior management. This is great exposure and will allow you to make the role your own, with your voice being heard at all levels of our organisation. Your role will be to evaluate and provide assurance that risk management, control and governance systems are functioning as intended and will enable the company's objectives to be met.

Support mechanisms are in place should you need them; however we will look to you to ensure that internal audit planning reflects underlying risks and is agreed with Audit Committee. Furthermore, it will be your role to ensure the timely completion of planned internal audit assignments, including clearly written and insightful reports.

In addition to your internal audit remit, you will also support the Group Planning & Reporting Manager with internal and external reporting for the group. This includes reporting as part of the year end and half year process (including the Annual Report), and preparation and analysis of quarterly re-forecasts and the annual budget for the group. Additionally you will support projects from time to time and liaise with external auditors and other corporate advisors as required.

About you:

Due to the technical nature of the role, it is essential that you are a qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) with a strong working knowledge of IFRS. You should be able to demonstrate significant experience of planning, conducting and managing audits for organisations with a global footprint. This experience means that you will be comfortable drafting reports and conducting presentations for senior management.

The dual nature of the role means that you will have to balance your time between annual and periodic commitments for both internal audit and group reporting, but the rewards will be an interesting and varied work schedule with the opportunity to make a significant impact. You will need to be highly organised and methodical in your planning and execution to be effective in this role. You will be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with a passion for the continuous improvement journey.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally, across a range of different seniorities. That said you should have the strength of character to challenge the status quo and demonstrate initiative in identifying pragmatic solutions to issues. Strong I.T. skills are essential and you should be an advanced user of Excel.

Due to the global nature of the group, you will have a willingness to travel internationally (approx. 30% of the role) in order to complete the internal audit assignments. This will also fast-track your understanding of the business, which will help with other elements of the role.
