We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Design Manager/Team Leader to join a new and rapidly expanding design team to take a lead role in developing and managing exciting and conceptual small design projects within the quick service restaurant environment. This role is based in Milton Keynes and will be reporting to Head of Design

• Experience in retail/Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) preferable but not essential
• Managing team and motivating individuals
• Space utilisation- understanding and demonstrating- Preferable but not essential
• Understanding of planning process
• Understanding of CDM role
• Understanding key component of acquisitions and Shopfit process
• Competent in AutoCAD essential
• 3D presentation skills such as sketch up/Revit/photoshop etc would be an advantage
• Proficient use of Microsoft excel, Word/Outlook and cloud based programmes
• Post holder must possess current driving license and willing to Travel
• Qualification in Architecture (TCIAT)/Construction/Building surveying desirable but not essential

Role description

• Line management and lead Design team on day to day basis.
• Responsible for allocation of projects to each design member and timescales for each element
• Hold weekly updates meeting with Design team to ensure projects deliverables on track
• Liaise with Head of Design on Project timescales to ensure overall programme is up to date and met
• Lead design role in multiple projects from concept through to construction
• Responsible for production of feasibility layouts Inc. HVAC for client approval and obtaining planning consent
• Managing detailed drawing process with Architects and ensure programme is met
• Provide technical support on design and HVAC queries
• Liaise with client on project deliverables
• Dealing with client/planners/LL/developers queries
• Liaise with Project Management team on all aspects of project
• Attend and manage site meetings where required
• Includes dealing with Estate enquiries and refits
• Evaluate and review current practices and implement any changes/work efficiencies

Additional information

• Salary range (dependent on experience) £38- 45K
• Company car provided
• 6 Month Probationary period
