My client based just on the outskirts of Stamford has an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join their company Your role will be to sell an extensive range of electric powered vehicles throughout the South region of the country. This is a frontline sales role, focused on developing a broad business base, selling directly to end-users and working with dealers. Your role will be to build on the company’s customer base, whilst delivering volume, share and profit growth. You will be provided with a company car, laptop, telephone and you will be able to earn commission on every sale that you make.

Responsibilities:

  • To maximise the company’s share of all business opportunities for their vehicles and parts (new, used, short term rentals, after market e.g. training)
  • To sell within a specified geographical area, to targets agreed with the Global Head of sales
  • Work with other departments, to ensure agreed service levels are maintained and customers retained
  • Provide innovative strategies and tactics to secure, win new profitable business, making regular use of product demonstrations and site visits
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships
  • Ensure sufficient contact is made at all levels within a customer/prospect account as part of a development strategy
  • Maintain and share a detailed account strategy for your territory and the larger customers and prospects within it
  • Attend and actively participate in all regular sales meetings
  • Investigate customer complaints and account queries, endeavouring to arrive at a satisfactory outcome
  • Provide adequate cover and/or assistance to a colleague on their territory, when required
  • Sell service maintenance contracts and other value add opportunities for the company, based on the solutions required to satisfy our customer’s needs

Skills Required:

  • Direct sales experience, ideally capital goods equipment or logistics with a proven success record
  • Ability to conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Understanding of marketing principles and account planning processes
  • Able to communicate convincingly both orally and in writing to all levels
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Full UK Driving License

Ideally based within an hour’s drive of Peterborough you will need to have experience in dealing with this type of product or something similar. As your area is South from here, ideal local would be from locations around the M25.
