We have just registered a brand new and exciting opportunity based in the Thame area for a Buyer to join our long-standing client in the Thame area. As a Buyer you will ultimately be responsible for ensuring a smooth process of new products and suppliers in the business whilst reviewing existing suppliers and negotiating terms and prices to ensure the best cost-saving options for the business without forfeiting quality and service.

The ideal candidate will come from a similar buyer, purchasing, procurement or supply chain role ideally within the IT Sector, although this isn't essential. They will be responsible and independent with the ability to work within an existing team in order to meet targets and deadlines.

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000
Hours:09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 09:00 - 16:30 Friday
Location:Thame, Oxfordshire

Primary duties:
*Provide procurement knowledge and support to all parts of the business in the identification, evaluation and engagement of suppliers to support the delivery of the company business plan.
*Ensuring a smooth flow and process of new product and suppliers into the business.
*Establish contractual agreements with identified vendors to set and maintain the highest performance standards in the supply chain.
*Reporting on performance SLA's and implementing continuous improvement initiatives where necessary
*Identify and implement opportunities to source products and services by analysing quotations, negotiating prices and terms with both current and prospective suppliers to deliver optimum value and margin to the business
*Engage with all areas of the business to plan and schedule purchases to meet all commercial requirements in a timely manner and within financial and operational parameters.
*Understand and apply the appropriate processes, policies and standards within the company management systems

Essential experience:
*Previous experience in a Procurement and Supply Chain environment
*Strong organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
*You should be team oriented and able to work on your own initiative.
*You will be IT literate and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*You should have previous experience in an office environment and you must be willing to learn about the company environment and practices
Desirable experience:
*Previous B2B experience
*Broad knowledge of Retail related products with a good understanding of appropriate hardware and software
*Previous experience in OEM sourcing role
*Previous experience in a finished goods buying role
