Financial Reporting Accountant - Full time, Permanent
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant within the Group Finance team reporting to the Group Reporting Manager. The Financial Reporting Accountant will work closely with the wider RAC Finance team to understand and analyse business performance in order to deliver high quality financial reporting to the Board and inform business leaders.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for:
-Production of timely, accurate and reliable monthly Board reports setting out relevant financial information and insight;
-Production of accurate, reliable, and timely monthly income statement, balance sheets and cash flow statements;
-Preparation of annual financial statements and assisting with the external audit;
-Regulatory compliance including preparation of financial returns to the FCA, and reporting and monitoring of solvency capital of regulated entities; and
-Ensuring financial controls are operating effectively through performing and consolidating reconciliations.
The Financial Reporting Accountant is a key member of the Group Finance team and will work closely with the Group Reporting Manager, the Director of Group Finance and have exposure to the CFO.
Skills, Knowledge and qualifications:
Candidates will be ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 12 months post-qualification experience and strong technical knowledge, in particular of IFRS. Experience in regulatory compliance reporting is valuable but not essential.
You will have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to challenge constructively. You will need to have good organisational skills and experience at managing to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to assimilate information quickly.
