We are based in Huntingdon, just off the A14 and close to the A1. We commenced production with two factories on this site in 1994 and then built an additional new state-of-the-art factory in 2007 to handle the rapid growth of the Company.

1. Purpose of the position

  • Daily operations of designated Production Lines

2. Responsibilities/Authorities

  • With respect to Production metrics ensure the following

  • Efficiencies: Through the PIT process, record, monitor and control Line Performance

  • Giveaways: Using Omega reports, product giveaways should be reviewed, monitored and controlled

  • Waste: Participate in the weekly yield meetings and support investigation/actioning of any non-conforming processes/ products.

  • Labour costs: Labour cost report should be reviewed daily and deviations from targets actioned.

  • DOT: Through effective planning and management of unplanned events ensure 100% DOT is targeted

  • Traceability: Ensure full traceability of all products and packaging at all times through effective leadership and conformance management.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure restraints to production are dealt with in a timely fashion

  • Attend Operations meeting daily and others as appropriate to ensure all information relating to their area is received and can be communicated to the relevant parties.

  • Reporting of issues constraining production

  • Escalation of issues raised at the PIT meeting or other forums that require support in order to address.

  • Support the Production Manager in the implementation and improvement of procedures and processes to ensure required standards of work are met

  • Progress the teams development needs through cross training and continuous assessment of training needs.

  • Ensure effective lines of communications are in place between the Area under the Team Manager’s supervision, the Production Manager, the Operations Manager, the rest of the business and externally where appropriate

  • Daily personnel management including

  • Liaise with HR on personnel issues and staffing requirements

  • Effective staffing of lines

  • Proactively engage the Production Manager with ideas for personal development

  • Personal Development Reviews for Line Leaders

3. Professional skills (Required education and work experience)

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Computer literate

  • Ability to manage & influence teams to achieve targets

5. Tasks

  • Customer Complaints: Deviations from quality should be actioned in order to minimize the risk of customer complaints

  • Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed throughout the factory
  • Support the company’s risk management strategy

7. Health & Safety:

  • Be familiar with and confirm to the company’s Health and Safety Programme
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and observe all safety rules
  • Do not endanger yourself or others by your actions or omissions
  • Use appropriate protective clothing, safety equipment and safety devices at all times
  • Report all accidents/injuries and near misses immediately
  • Follow all instructions given by any person with a responsibility for health and safety
  • Keep your place of work in a clean and tidy condition at all times
  • Report all hazards / non-conformances / substandard conditions as observed and make representations for improvements to the Engineering Manager /Supervisor or safety representative

Please note that this role will involve working in a cold temperature enviroment.

Hours of work:

0.530am-6.00pm working on a 4 days on 4 days off rotating shift pattern.
