Job Title: IT Manager

Reports To: Head of Operations

Location: HQ Hertford

Salary: £40 - £45k

Benefits: 10% bonus, 22 days annual leave, DIS, Pension

Days of Work: Monday - Friday

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Additional hours may be required)

Job Purpose

If you are a proven strategist, able to lead a team and have a strong track record in operational delivery, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Operations to oversee policy, develop systems and provide solutions to complex issues.

The purpose of this role is to effectively manage and develop the Information Technology function (responsible for the platforms, network and telephony environments). Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of IT to ensure constant availability, reliability and control of all technical platforms in line with the strategic and operational objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Manage, coach and enable a team of 4 IT Engineers

• Ensure the platforms and services are operational and maintained according to agreed service levels

• Manage all costs within budget including technical resources/services to enable delivery of projects

• Develop business systems to solve complex business problems in line with objectives which satisfy internal and external SLA’s

• Resolve all issues that relate to any of the work carried out. Only decisions clearly falling out of scope should be escalated upwards, with proposed solutions where appropriate

• Estimate, schedule and produce timely reports on the progress of the Team’s work against plan and key performance indicators

• Develop and manage relevant relationships within the Group and with external partners and suppliers to support the business

• Understand the Group’s business objectives and their impact on IT issues, identifying opportunities to use IT to business advantage

• Plan, organise and deliver presentations and/or training sessions to all levels

• Develop and manage the IT risk register ensuring that all risks are identified and the appropriate mitigation is implemented

Key Skills & Knowledge

• Have a strong track record of operational delivery, change management, risk management and effective team building

• Be able to make improvements which maximise benefits and value for money

• Be able to demonstrate experience of developing team capabilities, especially through third parties that deliver broader organizational strategic impact

• Demonstrate experience in managing projects, delivering on time, to specification and to budget.

• Demonstrate experience of mentoring, coaching and training skills of team members

• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

• Strong communicator, able to positively influence others

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ people management experience (essential)

• IT Team Management experience (desirable)

• A Project Management qualification or 3 years+ project management experience (essential)

• Have knowledge of Microsoft products, virtualisation technologies, IP network standards, Storage systems, telecommunications and unified communications, Cloud based services and Intel products (desirable)
