Technical Product Manager - Data & Analytics
London, W11
£Competitive Plus Excellent Benefits

Want to make a lasting impact with a business that is transforming the energy industry? Looking to collaborate with a like-minded team who like to do things differently? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

OVO Energy is leading a new generation of energy providers with a fresh outlook and a unique way of doing business. We are now looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our team.

OVO Energy are a proud, challenger brand who aren’t afraid to wander off the beaten track in order to find a better way of doing things. We’re excited by the unknown and know that innovation and teamwork are integral to our mission of delivering a world-class service to our customers.

In this highly visible role, as the Technical Product Manager, you will become a key player in OVO Energy’s efforts to build our state-of-the-art data infrastructure.

Specifically, you will gather and understand the data and analytics requirements for the different Product and Operations Teams across the business. You’ll translate these into user stories aligned to OVO’s business priorities, as well as our tech and data strategies.

Reporting to the Director of Data, you’ll work closely with leaders in the Product, Tech and Analytics Teams, as well as a wide range of stakeholders across the business. You’ll define priorities and work in an Agile environment to build and implement an outstanding platform.

Do you have what it takes? To be considered, you’ll need exposure to data science, BI, analytics tools and/or languages such as Tableau, Python or Scala. Experience of the following is also essential:

- Product management in a data driven organisation (such as online platforms, finance, social media or advertising) where data is a quintessential part of the company’s business and strategy
- Big data infrastructure
- Owning one or more products in an Agile environment aligned to the company’s vision and strategy
- Gathering thoughts and feedback from users and taking this and feeding into a product strategy
- Knowledge management and documentation and using this to implement strategies and identify best practice guidelines and evangelising them across the business
- Keeping leaders well informed regarding the progress and status of your team through PowerPoint presentations and reports

Our ideal Technical Product Manager will also have experience in Kafka, Google Cloud Platform services, and Spark, but this is by no means essential. A computer science background would also be beneficial, as would experience of implementing data integrity and consistency processes, including, but not limited to: automatic data consistency checks, exception reporting and data monitoring processes.
