Legal Secretary - Competition

Owen Reed are recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join a top London Law Firm working within the Competition team. The Legal Secretary will provide an efficient and professional secretarial service to a variety of partners and fee-earners across the group whilst ensuring the provision of an exceptionally high level of service.

Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary may include:
Proactively managing diaries
Proactively managing fee-earner inboxes
Creating, amending and dispatching of bills
Matter management
Organising meetings including all ancillary arrangements (e.g. booking meeting rooms, refreshments, taxis)
Organising travel and hospitality arrangements including all ancillary arrangements (e.g. order currency, equipment, restaurants, taxis)
Reconciling and claiming expenses
Transcribing from dictation (BigHand)
Creating PowerPoint presentations and Pitch documents
Amending and formatting documents
Copying, printing and scanning

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to communicate effectively (written, spoken and presentational), working well within a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written, spoken and presentational
Excellent attention to detail and good use of grammar
A solution focussed mind-set
Ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external clients and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals
Confident, proactive individual prepared to take a hands-on approach to managing their workload using their own initiative
Active listening skills and demonstrate professionalism in all dealings
Flexible with hours as necessary when the work of the firm requires it
Comfortable accepting instructions and guidance from different angles
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
