Mutli-skilled Maintenance Engineer (Manufacturing)

£28-35k + Excellent Pension, 25days Holiday, Bonus up to 7%, Death in Service, Healthcare, Subsidized Canteen
Based: Chester

This role is Monday to Friday based but works on 2 shifts, A shift and B shift, you will work 1 week of A shift and the following week of B shift.

A shift - 5.55am : 1.55pm
B shift - 1.55pm : 9.55pm

The Opportunity

Our client are a FTSE 100 manufacturer, with multiple worldwide production facilities. The company culture is one that heavily utilizes the Continuous Improvement model and due to a recent restructure requires a number of Electrically biased Manufacturing Shift Technicians to assist with an exciting period of multi-million pound investment for the business at their site just outside Chester. The company are a keen advocate of employee engagement and Kaizen CI processes to work as a collective to develop new and existing products and processes that change the lives of their customers in over 100 countries.

The site contains around 400 employees and have just undertaken a major restructure to help them meet new targets and satisfy existing production requirements. This company are currently in the process of adding a number of new production lines to allow them to increase the number of new products the site can manufacture, to meet global demand, meaning it's a great time to join the company, add value and really make a difference.

The Role

You'll be working with the production team hands on, to deliver against challenging production targets. You're role will be to work hands on alongside the Operations team on the line, but also dealing with all of the technical issues, therefore if you come from a hands on electrical manufacturing environment that would be a great fit. You'll work in conjunction with CI process teams and Team Managers to suggest technical improvements and comment on your particular production line. This is a state of the art production facility, where the products you make truly make a big difference to the customers they are sold into.

You'll get the chance to develop troubleshooting and planned maintenance requirements for your given line based on your hands on observations to allow you to maximize performance of machines and processes. You'll get the chance to progress within the company and develop your understanding of Lean, Six Sigma and kaizen ideologies within a FTSE 100 business. You'll most probably have leadership qualities and long term will get to develop and train new or existing members of your team to help production results. You'll get to integrate your knowledge with the senior CI Black Belts and be part of smaller project based team on small and medium sized projects as the company go through this period of investment.

The Candidate

First of all you will have a desire to work for a FTSE 100 company with a family feel and add value. You'll come with mechanical skills with a background in manufacturing or production, this can be from FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Automotive or other associated industries. You'll be clued up on analyzing technical issues with production lines and equipment and come up with new ideas, processes and procedures within this environment.

You'll understand that this role is hands-on, working on the production line, meaning you will be involved in day to day operations, but will cover, changeover, all electrical ppm and reactive electrical/mechanical maintenance on your line and neighboring lines if required. Qualifications

C&G or NVQ - Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Understanding of 5s's, Kaizen or Lean would be an advantage but not essential

The Package

This role has a salary of £28 - 35k
Up to 7% bonus
Holiday 25 days + 8 stats (opportunity to increase holiday with years served)
