Reed Education Southampton are currently working with a great school on an SEN Humanities Teacher role in the Portsmouth area.

Starting in the September term, the school are looking for an enthusiastic SEN Humanities Teacher to join them on a permanent basis. The role is 3 days a week, or full time, should you be looking for this.

The School:
• The school caters for children with MLD, communication difficulties and / or autism
• The school's pupils range from 11-16
• A supportive school, that offers a nurturing environment
• At last Ofsted the school was rated ‘Outstanding’
• Senior Leadership are very supportive
• Small class sizes
• Strong staff team, including excellent support staff

The Role:
• Teach Humanities to KS3 & KS4
• Geography and History. Some Citizenship and Religious Studies may be incorporated
• Tutor group
• Involvement in extra-curricular activities is encouraged, but not a necessity

What you will need:
• Ideally you will have experience working with children with MLD, SLD, PMLD or ASD
• You will need to be calm, caring and nurturing - able to manage high-tension situations effectively
• You will need to be reliable and consistent as the children require continuity and stability
• Team Teach trained is desirable, but not essential
