Cambridge, United Kingdom – Our client, is a market leading business based in Cambridge which is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the day to day accounting operations of the business with oversight of the team which is responsible for Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger, Cost Accounting and Stock. As Financial Controller you will be responsible for the preparation of draft management accounts and Board Pack for the Group’s trading entities and will be involved in preparing sales, purchase and margin variance and trend analysis, including reconciliations, supporting the commercial operations of the business.
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the month end and year end processes, including liaising with external auditors as necessary and be responsible for developing and reviewing accounting policies and procedures and be able to support and assist the Finance Director when required. To succeed in this role you will have experience in all aspects of accounts and processes and ideally a proven track record of staff management. As the role involves working with various levels of the business; strong communication skills and the ability to work with initiative and proactively make decisions and solve problems is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) and will have previous experience within a similar role in industry and commerce. In addition, you will be ambitious and be able to demonstrate the potential to progress within the business.
