Can you provide rehabilitation support for individuals on release from custody? 

Our client is a national charity which supports people affected by imprisonment. They provide practical and emotional support to prisoners' children and families and to prisoners themselves. Our client offers support from courts to prisons through to resettlement and community work. 

Position: Through the Gate Mentor 
Location: Wrexham 
Contract type: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract 12 months 
Hours: 18.75 per week 
Salary: £10,000 (FTE £20,000)

About the role: 

They are currently looking to recruit a part time worker based in Wrexham, with the intention to support the mobilisation of a Through the Gate mentoring service although you will have a central base at this location, your role will involve regular travel through North Wales. 

You will be responsible a caseload of offenders who are being released from prison, and will be responsible for providing them with appropriate support to ensure a successful resettlement into the community. You will provide one to one casework, and drop-in sessions, this may include meeting the offender whilst still in custody to complete an action plan, meeting at the gate, accompanying to appointments and supported referrals. 

About you: 

You will need to build and maintain effective relationships with prisons, Community Rehabilitation Companies and community agencies, ensuring successful referral and feedback mechanisms are in place and providing timely and regular information to the Mentoring Co-Ordinator with regards to targets, progress and issues. 

Please be aware that this role is subject to prison clearance, an enhanced DBS and satisfactory references. They require that you have access to a vehicle as the role involves daily travelling.
