Vector are looking for a PLANT MANAGER to join our Clients' renewables development and technical delivery team in Doncaster. This person will work with the company CEO to work as a General Manager/Plant Manager on a brand new renewable bioenergy site in Doncaster, which is due to start at the end of this year. Ideally, they are looking for someone to start this summer, so they can be involved in the set up and design of the plant, before taking over.

The Plant Manager will manage contractors on what is scheduled to be the largest plant of its type in the UK - a huge challenge.

This organisation are a renewable energy project developer focussed on Anaerobic Digestion and Biomethane with several projects in development and construction, each project has a total value of between c. £3m and £20m. Formed within the last 5 years, they are an innovative, developing organisation who is very much at the top of their game.

You will be enthusiastic about organic energy and equally comfortable in both office and site environments. You will be personable, well organised, with an eye for detail and the patience and focus to see a job through. You will have an engineering qualification, with at least 2 years direct, relevant experience on construction projects.

The Contracts Manager will have the following experience:

  • Plant Management
  • Some commercial knowledge of Construction Projects
  • Management of contractors - a resilient, authoritative individual

In addition to this experience, we're looking for someone with the following skills/ qualifications (though not all are essential):

  • Engineering qualification (preferably civil/ structural) or similar
  • Strong computing/ spreadsheet skills (MS packages/ internet/ etc)
  • Competent using autoCAD/ 3D or similar
  • Good/ competent with Project Programming - e.g MS Project

The role will be based purely in Doncaster, but there may be an occasional need to travel to the company HQ in Bedfordshire. Travel costs of course will be covered.
