My client a leading multinational banking and financial services corporation are looking for an ambitious qualified accountant to join the FP&A team in London. The team covers EMEA Investment Bank, Capital Markets and Corporate Banking management reporting. The team consists of 3 members in the London office and 2 members in India. The team provides financial support to the Head of the GCIB business and CFO in EMEA.

The team is small and as a result we are able to offer a varied role with broad scope and interaction with many key stakeholders across the franchise. Successful team members have progressed within the team to more senior roles in FP&A, as well as across Finance.


Provide financial support for EMEA GCIB. This includes, inter-alia, ongoing management reporting as well as involvement in any current projects / detailed expense analyses. The tasks would include but not be limited to:

o Assisting with preparation and review of weekly and monthly reporting packs covering P&L, revenue and expense analysis and other relevant financial information e.g. cost allocation details/balance sheet information

o Partnering with the India FP&A team ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reporting

o Assisting with providing data and commentary for high profile meetings & presentations including: regulator meetings; Town Halls; Board of Directors meetings

o Review and ownership of country and industry reporting for business line

o Detailed expense variance analysis

o Preparation and input of financial forecast and budget for revenues and expenses, at both management and legal entity level. Including supporting analysis of results and commentary

o Review and interpretation of costs received from internal support groups and sourcing explanations from regional business finance where necessary

o Dealing with any ad hoc queries from finance or the business

o Continuous review of reporting and process with drive to ensure reporting is both relevant and produced efficiently

Essential Skills:

o High degree of numerical, verbal and analytical ability

o Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified)

o Management reporting experience

o Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships with key internal clients

o Team player who is able to produce high quality, accurate output under tight timescales

o Strong accounting and analytical skills
